About Me
Since 2020, Dr. Antonella Belmonte has been a researcher at the National Research Council (CNR-IREA), where she specializes in advanced remote sensing and multi-platform data integration. Her scientific activity focuses on the synergy between satellite, airborne, and UAV data to address complex environmental challenges and land-use monitoring.

A core component of her research involves multi-temporal SAR interferometry, specifically PSInSAR techniques, through which she has developed  "unwrapping-free" interpolation methods to improve the precision of surface deformation and ground displacement analysis. Furthermore, she specializes in multi-scale spatial data management for soil variability and plant pathogen detection, notably Xylella fastidiosa. In this field, she has established methodologies for bridging different spatial scales by integrating UAV multispectral imagery with ground-based hyperspectral sampling through Change of Support (CoS) geostatistical techniques.

Dr. Belmonte has also participated in experimental field campaigns focused on soil moisture and specialized UAV acquisitions to provide robust empirical validation for theoretical models. Beyond research, she facilitates the technological transfer of these methodologies—such as advanced vegetation monitoring and SAR processing—through consultancy for CREA and intensive teaching and tutoring within PhD programs at the University of Bari "Aldo Moro" and the University of Chieti "G. d'Annunzio".

Dr. Antonella Belmonte’s career is distinguished by her active and consistent participation in numerous research projects of national and international relevance, strengthened through collaborations with leading institutions in the Earth Observation sector, including her professional experience at the Liège Space Center (CSL) in Belgium.
