About Me
Paolo Tortora is Full Professor of Aerospace Systems at the University of Bologna. He holds a degree in Aeronautical Engineering and a PhD in Aerospace Engineering from Sapienza University of Rome.

His research focuses on planetary exploration, space systems, and radio science experiments for deep-space missions. Over the past two decades, he has held leading scientific roles in major international missions, including BepiColombo, Juno, JUICE, Hera, Europa Clipper, ExoMars, and Cassini-Huygens. He is also a member of the ESA Expert Committee for the definition of the scientific objectives of the Agency’s fourth Large-Class mission, dedicated to the moons of the giant planets.

Professor Tortora is the author or co-author of more than 160 scientific publications and is an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), a Senior Member of IEEE, and a member of several international scientific societies.
