About Me
Marco Brancati holds a degree in Electronic Engineering with a focus on Telecommunications and Radars from the University of Naples Federico II. He began his career at Selenia Industrie, where he dealt with System Analysis activities for the Electronic Defense Division prior to moving to the Telespazio Group in 1990.
His most recent experiences include:
- appointed in 2011 he was appointed Senior Vice President of Network & Connectivity Business Unit at the Group level. In the same year he completed his Executive Leadership Program at London Imperial College;
- appointed on October 2016 Marco as Chief Technology & Innovation Officer for Telespazio Group, in charge of Innovation and Technology Governance;
- appointed in June 2023 as SVP of Research, Digital and Innovation Unit also covering, in addition to those relevant to CTIO, the responsibilities for Information Technology, Sustainability, Research Funding and Digital Engineering for the whole Telespazio Group,.
- At the end of 2024 appointed as Technical Director of newly created Leonardo Space Division.
From 2022 he is Vice President of Space Exploration Commission within “Ordine degli Ingegneri” organization in Roma. He was recently elected as Corresponding Member on Engineering Sciences to the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA). He is member of “Il Quadrato della Radio”, an association of national experts in the Telecommunications field.
